February 13, 2024

Hagerstown, MD – The Doleman Black Heritage Museum (DBHM) proudly announces the soft launch of its brand-new website, scheduled to go live on February 14, 2024. While several of the new sites' feature pages will continue to be a work in progress, we are sure you will enjoy the new design and content. Connect with us at, www.dolemanblackheritagemuseum.org marks another significant milestone for DBHM, offering a dynamic platform to engage and connect with its audience.

The web designer for this project was entrusted to Brand Specialist Terri Brant of New View Creative. A portion of the new website was made possible by our Web Host - dhweb, owner David Hall, Terri Brant, Youngblood Studios, and a grant award fromWashington County Grant Management: Community Organization Funds (COF). Some of the featured photographs are sourced from the esteemed Doleman family collection.

DBHM expresses excitement about the long-awaited website, designed to provide comprehensive information about the organization, including contact details of Board members, a calendar featuring upcoming and past events with sponsor listings, and updates on the progress of its future home project.

One of the standout features of the new website is its user-friendly donation portal, offering visitors the opportunity to support DBHM. The e-commerce section features a DBHM e-gift shop that showcases museum memorabilia, including the much-anticipated keepsake book, "Metaphorically Speaking: The Meaning Behind Our State-of-the-Art, Forever Home," available for purchase.

Additionally, the website hosts an online view of the auction items for its annual fundraiser and dedicates a section to showcase art by Black Artists. This platform serves as a spotlight to highlight Black Artists, enabling visitors to connect directly with these talented individuals and purchase their artwork.

"We're thrilled to unveil the new website, offering diverse avenues for engagement and support. Whether exploring our e-gift shop, connecting with Black Artists, and much more, this platform is a testament to the organization's leadership and commitment to celebrating and empowering the Black community."
~ Alesia Parson-McBean, DBHM, Project Manager.
