Resignation Letter From Mr. Paul "Paulie" Ward

July 29, 2024

To the Board of Directors of the Dolman Black Heritage Museum,

At our annual meeting on 16th July 2024, I will not seek another term on the Board. I am thankful for the four years with the DBHM, starting with presenting digital memories of our first Juneteenth Celebration and continuing to our fourth presentation this past June 2024. I am thankful to be part of our Juneteenth Celebration from the very beginning as I contributed photo digital memories of the celebrations for these years. I am thankful for the board members and their vote of confidence for me to be a member of the board these last two years. I was glad to have stepped in - temporarily - to serve as your Treasurer last year. I worked to re-establish the treasury department and set forth the necessary accounts that would benefit the treasury in the future. And, without a question, it sure was extremely challenging! I challenged the organization to establish insurance coverage for the board and its officers.

Your future is bright with a wonderful NEW Museum that will be established on the museum's property here in Hagerstown! This new museum, a testament to the rich heritage of the Doleman family, will be a beacon of education and presentation, standing tall in Hagerstown, Washington County, and the State of Maryland. I am immensely proud to have been part of its inception and am confident that it will continue to uphold the values and culture we hold dear.

Although I have the least tenure on this board, I have gained remarkable experience, wonderful knowledge, and lasting friendships with you all. I have been privileged and honored. It is time for me to retire, step back, and look to family and friends for a wonderful future yet to come. I want to express my sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the Doleman Black Heritage Museum.

Thank you all.

Paulie
