Needs Assessment on its Way

Mary Beth Coorigan, of Kensington, Maryland, has been named by the City of Hagerstown, as the consultant to assess the DBHM collection. Mary Beth, who was chosen by a six-member panel on October 31, 2008, for her experience in the conservation of historic artifacts; will assess the historic significance of the collection and recommend conservation strategies, for the collection.

Corrigan will earn $30,000 for her services; $15,000 of that amount was covered by a Maryland Heritage Area Authority Grant and the remaining was matched by the City’s General Fund Contingency. The assessment began in January 2009 and is expected to be completed by late 2009.
