FRIENDS OF THE DOLEMAN BLACK HERITAGE MUSEUM PRESENTS ITS ANNUAL
CHOCOLATE GARDEN TEA AND LUNCHEON WITH SPECIAL GUEST CECILIA SUMMERS AUTHOR OF “WE’RE CROSSIN’ OVER ONE BY ONE”.
Hagerstown, MD July 16, 2018 – This is a fundraiser for the Doleman Black Heritage Museum(DBHM) which is a nonprofit 501 c 3 located at 540 N. Locust Street, Hagerstown, MD. Friends of DBHM invites you to come out in support of our Annual Chocolate Garden Tea and Luncheon. This year we celebrate the consciousness, love, and power of women making a difference in the community.
Our special guest is dynamic new author, Cecilia Summers of “We’re Crossin’ Over One By One” is riveting tale of the Brooks Family of Front Royal, Virginia and their family secret that changed the course of U.S. history. Cecelia became aware that one of her ancestors was freed before the Emancipation Proclamation. She speculated as to why he continued to reside in the slave state of Virginia. And, after further genealogical research, she wrote her first novel; WE’RE CROSSIN’ OVER ONE BY ONE, the evocative saga of her fictitious ancestor’s incredible story.
We invite you to come out and enjoy an afternoon of great fun traveling through history. As in the past there will be raffles, a hat parade, door prize, food and entertainment.
